Helping Children Communicate with Confidence

Years of
NHS Experience

Hi, I’m Mavish — the therapist behind Speech Therapy Talks.

I help children and young people unlock their communication potential through consistent, relationship-based support that’s tailored to who they are, not who the world expects them to be.

With a background in both speech and language therapy and child mental health, I bring a holistic approach to every session. I specialise in supporting anxious, withdrawn, and neurodivergent communicators, including children with selective mutism, autism, and ADHD.

Open, honest communication is at the heart of everything I do. From your first message to every step of therapy, you’ll be in touch directly with me — no middle layers, just real support from someone who truly cares.

Real progress happens when we work together — so I collaborate closely with families, schools, and caregivers to make communication support feel safe, sustainable, and truly effective in everyday life.

Let’s work together to help your child communicate with confidence

Neurodevelopmental Differences

Our therapists have a history of working in Autism Diagnostic services to supplement the diagnosis process using ADOS.

Our experienced therapists support children with a range of speech difficulties.

Language Delay

We have a wealth of knowledge on language and have strategies for parents with ‘late talkers’ to older children with grammatical difficulties.

We provide in depth assessment, strategies and advice for parents and professionals working with individuals suffering from selective mutism.

Testimonials

Results I have helped create

“Our daughter has Cerebral Palsy and we wanted some advice on how to support him going forward, particularly regarding AAC. We thought the report was excellent and it was really helpful to come along and get your opinion.”
Kirsty
“I’ve noticed so much change in my son since we found Mavish. He was often hitting out of frustration and following his own agenda at school but he is now able to engage with play and activities with some adult direction. His school support staff have said it’s been really useful to learn how to get him engaged with new experiences and to follow the routine. At home bed time was challenging and led to meltdowns however, Mavish has helped us with advice and strategies and it’s taken the upset out of the process. My son is a generally a happier boy and I couldn’t be more grateful.”
Suzy
“We didn’t really know what to expect from speech and language therapy however, I was impressed by the detail of the assessment and felt like every session there was something new we had learnt. Mavish demonstrates strategies and explains the reasoning behind them too. Our daughter loves the sessions and her vocabulary has really developed. Of all of the new words she has learnt, Mavish is one of them!”
Robert
“Jayden built a great relationship with Mavish and shared feelings about his stammer that he just would not open up to us about. I’ve learnt so much about stammering and communication myself and I am so pleased with the confidence Jayden has managed to develop.”
Marie
“My son’s speech has improved significantly and Mavish was extremely patient and attentive with him. She made the sessions playful with a real variety of games and always provided me with plenty of homework.”
Emma
“Mavish has a warm, gentle & engaging way with children which really brings out the best in them. My son has improved his speech really quickly. We're so happy with the results. Mavish offers different options for working with her, which really helped us make it work. We've been able to talk to her anytime and her flexibility in offering other support has been invaluable. We would highly recommend her services.”
Laura
"I had a private consultation for my son and the therapist was very professional and knowledgable. Key areas were identified which I had not previously taken into consideration, which allowed me focus and develop my son’s speech further. Very helpful with all the questions I had and considerate in taking the parents view into account also.”
Ruqayyah
"I highly commend the professional and friendly approach Mavish took to assessment and delivery of therapy sessions, which proved very effective for our son. He was a little apprehensive but immediately put at ease and looked forward to the weekly sessions. Greatly appreciate the flexibility in arranging sessions."
